:mastodon: My favorite highlights of #Mastodon 2.7.0 :
- Multiple hashtags in a single column (I literally asked for that: discourse.joinmastodon.org/t/r)
- The new Profile directory: mastodon.art/explore
- The new public tags page layout mastodon.art/tags/krita (do you know what's missing from that? That's right, multiple hashtags in a single page)
- The new notification filters

Check the Release notes, this release is bonkers

Thanks @Curator for the upgrade!

Upon further comment, I take back the first two requests and stick with:

"Set someone's default views to Home / Notifications / Local Timeline / Federated Timeline so that things don't seem so empty when new users, completely virgin to Mastodon, log in."

I'm going to have to make an "announcements@swingset.social" and set it as a default follow that people are welcome to unfollow and... maybe convince current users to follow it, much like the vaunted Hedonism Bot (@podcasts).

Things i'd still like to do with :

@all tag everyone on an instance as an admin or moderator to generate a notification.

DM everyone on an instance as an admin.

Set someone's default views to Home / Notifications / Local Timeline / Federated Timeline so that things don't seem so empty when new users, completely virgin to Mastodon, log in.

Fellow admins, if there are ways you've figured out to do any of these things, I am interested!

So I posted a thing on Twitter and Facebook because I'm lucky enough to have a significant following on those platforms and...

'cause I was in need of a bit of a personal boost.

I've (luckily) been very good at valuing and bosting other people's work, I haven't been good at doing it for my own and I badly needed it.

So I'm taking time to thank everyone there, it just took me almost a week to do it becaue I couldn't build up the chutzpah for saying thank you.

*sigh* I'm strange.

Listen, I realize this graphic is pretty self-promotional... but it's also heckin' hilarious.

Forgiveness please.

Faaaaaaa, Coverville is SO GOOD...
coverville.com/episodes/cover-

Green Day, Nirvana, and Ke$ha covers, I'm grooving inappropriately hard at work right now.

Want to use a link shortener on #Mastodon?

Don't! :blobsurprised: All links in Mastodon posts count for 23 characters, no matter how long they really are.

#MastoTips

Me, every time I toot: This is the one. This is the one that will make me world-famous and finally give me self-esteem.

*clicks TOOT!*

*five seconds later, when nothing has happened*

ughhhh I'm SO BAD at this

@podcasts

Hey @JustKeepSwinging if you'd like HedonismBot to tweet out your podcasts I'd be happy to set that up! Just let me know.

Hey all!

I've created a bot: @podcasts

This bot's job is solely to post about new podcast episodes, it's pulling directly from lifeontheswingset.com.

If you want to know when podcasts come out, follow that bot!

"My skate name is Rampant Ratchet, number 113.
How I chose my skatename is, I'm an engineer -- a lot of people call me Raytch, Ratch, Ratchet, so, it's kinda like that,
and then, the "Rampant" is,
uhm,,,
probably not good for TV?"

OH MY GDO

Self-Promotion: Sex Ed workshop on foreskins (with hilarious image)

I’d love to start a conversation with everyone here about something that’s been ruminating in my head for a while now, body types and the words and connotations that we place on them. What does everyone prefer when it comes to describing body types? How do the different words and categories make you FEEL? Ex: BBW, curvy, thick, spinner, etc.

Please boost and give me your thoughts if you’d like, I’d love to know everyone’s thoughts on the matter, providers and clients!

❤️❤️❤️
